I still can’t believe we own this unreal incense burner by ASTIER DE VILLATTE.
The incense nestles into the tiny hole between the thumb pointer and middle finger and the ash drops straight down into the palm.
The handcrafted black terracotta ceramics with a signature milky-white glaze of Astier de VILLATTE are made in Paris by “over 16 artisans” — “most are from Tibet, where they studied in Buddhist monasteries before taking up ceramics”.
The price is steep and I never could have pulled the trigger on it, I’m frugal like that, but my husband fell in love with it immediately and had to have it. I’m glad he did. It is now one of our prized possessions.
