Handmade Angel Sculpture

I adore sculpture.

I think that paper mache isn’t used enough. It’s inexpensive and approachable and because of that the price point for the art can be lower and therefore easier for new collectors to get into.

My husband has a collection of paper mache sculptures that started years ago when he saw a funny little guy in a gallery in Portland Maine. It was I think 60$ which is a reasonable price for art nevermind sculpture.

For years after that I would buy him a piece for Christmas or Easter or his birthday. Now he has quite a few. Unfortunately, the gallery closed and the artist doesn’t really sell her art anywhere these days. But before they closed I was able to get her contact info and I have purchased two pieces from her directly since.

This Etsy artist makes paper mache angel sculptures that are pretty cool. I’m always on the look out for sculpture artists playing with paper mache. Let me know if you know any I should check out!
