You ever just start a yearly tournament and order a trophy for it and an engraver so you can carve the winners name into it every year?

Highly recommend.

A couple years ago when my Pepe died I decided my family would need to do a yearly pay me tournament in his honor held on Christmas his favorite day of the whole year. The man was practically Santa.

Pay me is a game probably known to the masses by some other name ,completely unknown to us, that my family plays religiously. Before he died my Meme and Pepe had played at least three games a day for who knows how many years. I want to say 61 because that’s how long they were married but idk exactly when they learned the game.

The tournament is the perfect remembrance for him. We say all the things he would say when he played. We chant cheater cheater when someone does something we don’t like. We yell out gut shot when we need a card to connect two pieces or say “I hate jacks” when its jacks are wild. We tease each other and we pretend to be arch enemies fighting to the death. We complain that Pepe is helping meme win or that it’s just not our year but we will win it next year.

In the end the winners name gets scrawled on the trophy and we get a picture of them holding it proudly just as Pepe would have wanted.

So buy a trophy and start a yearly competition or tournament. I highly suggest it.
