The Warrior Chronicles (K.F. Breene)

I LOVED this (6 book) series. I have long said it should be turned into a show. I think it would do incredibly well.

The main character is like a 20 something beautiful bad ass who is supposedly going to save the world or whatever but she doesn’t necessarily believe that to be true.

In the very beginning she meets and essentially adopts a group of teenage boys who are trying to learn to be soldiers in their very militarized community. She hones them into tools that allow them to greater serve their community and when the time comes humanity.

The love interest is pretty begrudging at first. It’s not overly sappy (I hate that) and it’s not like one chapter then smut, half a chapter, more smut, smut, smut, one chapter. You get what I mean.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not opposed to smut I can make some very smutty suggestions but I read it when I want and I don’t typically want it in my fantasy reading.
