More on making your house weirder and cooler than other peoples houses.
Years ago, I’m talking like 15 years ago, I thrifted a cement basket filled with cement fruit made in Mexico. My parents were like wtf is a 21 year old going to do with that piece of Mexican folk art that weighs like 50 pounds? Plus I think they thought it was genuinely ugly. Well jokes on them. I kept that basket in storage for 14 years till I finally moved into a home that could accommodate its greatness. In the saddest moment ever the basket broke in our move and I was devastated. However, I decided that was just an excuse to have cement fruit scattered around my home.
There is a cement mango on my dresser, a cement banana on my husbands night stand, a cement peach on the shelves in my den, a cement persimmon on my kitchen island and a cement papaya on my porch.
This company is making two versions of a cement banana, both are cool as heck but I think the overly ripe one really sticks the landing you know.
Get one. I dare you.
